On June 17, 2015 Declaration of Mutual Understanding and Cooperation between three largest transport and polytechnic universities of Europe was signed in the PSTU within a framework of the International Congress «Innovations and Staff in Railway Transport Geopolitics»

Scientific and Technical Library of Emperor Alexander I St.Petersburg State Transport University (PGUPS) is the oldest and one of the biggest national libraries which collect publications referring to transport and civil engineering. Like the University itself, the Library is over 200 years old. Over a million books are kept in its funds.

Students, post-graduate students, preparatory section learners, qualification improvement courses trainees are provided with a possibility of residing in comfortable Residence Halls.

In close proximity to the Residence Halls is located the Physical culture club having available a swimming pool, workout rooms, a martial arts room, a fitness room, a separate Finnish sauna, a Russian bath, medical and massage rooms as well as a tanning saloon and a barber’s shop and a hairdresser’s salon.

In November 1810, classes for the first intake students began.
