Academic mobility programs

The University has established more than 80 valid agreements, that allow academic mobility for students, postgraduates and teachers. Academic mobility types for students:

  • «Summer schools» — short-term courses at a partner university for 2-4 weeks;
  • Semester study — one semester of studying at a partner university without receiving its diploma;
  • Internship — industrial or pre-diploma internship at a partner university or organization;
  • «Double Degree» program — two semesters of studying at a partner university with the subsequent graduation with 2 diplomas (PGUPS and a partner university);
  • Science internship — internship for postgraduate students and teachers as a part of their scientific work.

Main requirements for students participating in academic exchange programs include:

  • good academic performance;
  • foreign language proficiency (confirmed by a certificate).

«Double Degree» Programs

Currently, the University offers 3 «Double Degree» programs in English:

  • LAB University of Applied Sciences (Lappeenranta, Finland)

    Bachelor’s degree in Construction (valid since 2009). The program participants on the part of PGUPS are the faculties of Transport Construction, and Industrial and Civil Engineering;

  • LAB University of Applied Sciences (Lappeenranta, Finland)

    Bachelor’s degree in International Business (valid since 2011). The program participants on the part of PGUPS are the faculties of Economics and Management, and Railway Operation and Logistics;

  • Hochschule Stralsund — University of Applied Sciences (Germany)

    Bachelor’s degree in Financial Management (valid since 1999). The program participant on the part of PGUPS is the faculty of Economics and Management.

A «double degree» program in Chinese:

  • Beijing Jiaotong University (the People’s Republic of China)

    The program is available for the students of the following specialties and programs: «Construction of railways, bridges and transport tunnels», «Railway Operation and Maintenance», «Railway rolling stock», «Train movement support systems», «Management», «Trade business», «Technosphere Safety», «Electric Power and Electric Engineering» (valid since 2015).

An additional educational program for professional retraining «Manager of high-speed railway systems» (valid since 2015) is conducted together with Conservatoire national des arts et métiers (CNAM), Paris, France. At the end of the one-year course, students get 2 diplomas.

Translation of documents into English is performed within 30 working days.
